5 Exercises for Happy Hips
By far the number one request I get in class is to help mamas hips feel better. Stiff. Sore. Tight. Weak.
And for good reason. There’s a lot going on in the area for most of us, regardless if we’ve had kids or not. Our modern lifestyle (being more sedentary) directly influences how our hips feel.
But the added physical, emotional and lifestyle changes that come along with pregnancy and child rearing definitely contribute to even more potential imbalances.
Creating balance around the pelvis helps:
reduce lower back pain
release upper back strain and tension
promotes better core and pelvic floor function
Sounds great, amiright? Absolutely. So when thinking about creating balance we want to make sure we’re focusing on both mobilizing AND stabilizing. In other words, releasing tension and strengthening.
By far my fave exercises are the ones that do double duty-those magical exercises that release tension and create support and stability.
And so I present you 5 of my favorite exercises to get your hips feeling strong and supple. Almost sounds too good to be true but it’s not, I promise you’ll be able to move with more freedom and ease and feel a whole lot more supported! Take a few minutes to give your hips some serious loving with these 5 magical exericses!
